Door frames delivered

The laundry door and window frame was delivered today, very exciting until a closer look revealed that the window was a sliding window, not wind out awning as specified. So tomorrow we will see how well the builder deals with this.

Today we arrived to find that something new had been delivered.

Well it didn't take long for the birds to find the new house and leave their mark........on a vertical surface no less!

No Action today

Perfect weather but no builders on site.  Looking at the frame it seems almost complete, roofing now makes sense.

Pool is looking very good, not seeming to lose water and chemical balance seems perfect.  Chlorine levels are now normal so hoping they will stay that way.

Gas pipe fitted

This picture actually taken on October 28, shows more progress. Mostly in roof structure. Gas pipe has been fitted.

Rainbank

Saw this package going out for a great price so grabbed it, pump is for rainwater tank water to toilets and laundry. Can also do outside taps for watering garden. Rainbank is the clever bit, allows automatic change over to mains water if rainwater runs out or power for pump fails.

Day 3 and the builders have been back. Some red panels have been added and ceiling beams started. Also the frames have been bolted to the slab, it won't be moving now!

Another nothing day

Perfect weather but no action.   Have begun to think about insulating the inerior wall spaces, we have 13mm walls but when you see the frame it is obvious just how little space is between rooms.
Have been recommended Bradford Soundscreen (Rockwool) Batts.  No idea on price yet.

NFA

No further action on the frame today despite perfect weather.  Pool is now showing normal levels of chlorine the only problem is keeping the sand out as it clogs the filter stopping flow and reducing the chlorine levels.

Well the pool is looking much better, the salt levels are almost normal meaning that the chlorinator can start producing enough chlorine. The filter keeps getting clogged up with sand reducing flow.

This was how it looked this morning, frame almost completed, looks like it needs a bit more root work and to be bolted to the slab.

PGH Castillo bricks have arived!

Today we went to clean our pool, looks like it is no longer leaking. Great excitement as we drew up and saw that the bricks have arrived!

These are the Castillo bricks as delivered, they really change depending on the light, lots of purple and blue tones. We are really happy with this choice. Mortar will be black.

Swimming Pool not leaking

After several days the pool is still holding all of it's water so hoping that the leak is fixed. Took several hours to clean as the bottom was full of leaves from the Oak tree next door. Another week of no leaks and we will be confident enough to start on the paving.
